We’re a team of medical professionals and interdisciplinary product builders united by a desire to improve fertility care.

Irene Alvarado
Founder and CEO
Irene founded Berry after navigating a fertility treatment herself. She is a computer scientist by training and worked as a senior engineer at Google and GitHub, launching new machine learning-enabled products. Irene was an adjunct professor at NYU and is an alumna of Columbia University and Carnegie Mellon.
Gilbert L. Mottla, MD
Advisor
Board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and reproductive endocrinology, Dr. Mottla started and grew Shadygrove’s practice in Maryland. Highly recognized as a reproductive endocrinologist, Dr. Mottla is also a clinical assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Georgetown University.
Laura Morrissey, RN, BSN
Clinical and Operations Lead
Laura has worked in fertility clinics on both coasts, at NYU Langone Fertility Center and Pacific Fertility Center, and is intimately familiar with the patient experience. She's also worked in labor and delivery, caring for and supporting patients as they bring new life into the world. Both careers have led to a passion for helping patients achieve their goal of growing their family.
Chris Sleat
Head of Product
Experienced CEO and product leader. Previously founded and ran Workbench an ed-tech company acquired by Google, a clinical research company, and a high-end custom design and software development shop.
Jennifer Klepper
Head of Operations
Experienced corporate attorney. Previously Chief Compliance Officer at Workbench, with a focus on data privacy.
Isaac Blankensmith
Head of Design
Multidisciplinary digital and hardware designer. Previously was design lead at Google and professor at Parsons and School of Visual Arts.
Phil Bayer
Software Engineer
Multidisciplinary software engineer and designer. Phil has built machine learning education apps, devices for assistive technology, tools for artists, and much more. Previously worked at Google and graduated from Brown University and the Rhode Island School of Design.
